![]() Read on to see what his impressions were, but experienced LEGO builders know full well what they're in for. It took Kevin about two weeks to assemble everything. We actually got our hands on one of these LEGO Imperial Star Destroyer kits and built it ourselves. Although we don't recommend stockpiling LEGOs as part of your retirement portfolio, the UCS sets do offer a better return on your investment than other kits. Traditionally, all of these sets have eventually been discontinued, and the price has skyrocketed afterwards. When such stars run out of fuel, they collapse, causing a supernova explosion. This set was designed by Henrik Anderson, who also created several other UCS sets. One of stars is an unusually massive sun known as a Wolf-Rayet star. Other sets include the Millennium Falcon, Death Star, AT-AT, Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder, A-Wing Starfighter, and more. They're also intended for display purposes only. The Imperial Star Destroyer is part of LEGO's Ultimate Collector Series (UCS), a collection of mostly Star Wars kits that are more complex than other LEGO sets and are generally aimed towards an older audience. These giants are typically found in the densely populated hearts of dust-shrouded star clusters. One big obstacle standing in the way of scientists trying to solve this puzzle is obtaining observations of these stars. We might, therefore, not expect to find planets around them. Astronomers still do not understand how massive stars, which are more than 100 times the mass of the Sun, are formed. As a comparison, LEGO's previous LEGO Star Destroyer (10030), which has long been discontinued and regularly fetches prices in the thousands, is a bit smaller at 36"x23" with a 3,096 brick count. These massive stars are very bright but have much shorter lives than the Sun, and in some instances, they live for only several million years (rather than billions). This set measures a gargantuan 42 inches long, 26" wide, and 17" tall and consists of almost 5,000 bricks. The LEGO Imperial Star Destroyer is the perfect complement to the $800 Millennium Falcon.
